December 10, 2016
We would like to bring your attention to the stage we are at in planning the annual Meadowbrook Christmas dinner on Saturday the 10th of December.
There will be 50/50 tickets available at the door. The “Cocktail Hour” will be at 5:00 PM with everyone having the appetizers that are brought. Dinner will be at 6:00 PM and the menu consists of turkey, ham, meatballs, mashed potatoes, gravy, stuffing, cranberry sauce as well as your goodies. Only the stuffing will not be Gluten Free (GF). If your dish is GF, please let the Lifestyle EC know so it can be identified. Volunteers for cooking and set-up crew have been organized. We will have live music and carols before dinner.
The sign-up sheet is up at the clubhouse bulletin board now and is slightly different than the regular. You are asked to sign up under the various categories for the meal, such as hot and cold appetizers, types of salad, hot veggie dishes, etc. Cut-off date for signing up is Saturday, 3 December. Since this meal is free to the members of the Meadowbrook Lifestyle Club, there will be a charge of $20.00 for each invited guest.
Because of past complaints there is no Silent Auction or gift exchange planned for this year but if someone is willing to organize some form of entertainment, your EC will support you anyway we can.
We do need 4 volunteers for serving the meal (food disher-uppers) and 6 for a clean-up crew on Sunday morning. We don’t want anyone to miss any of the Saturday evening festivities. (Those sign-up sheets have also gone up in the clubhouse.)
We hope that if you have the “Hum-bugs”, this event will be a kick-start for your 2016 Christmas season.
